DAY CARE CENTRES (EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTRES)

The establishment of Crèches, Day   Care Centers, and Nurseries are mostly by the effort of private person, NGO, churches and communities. The Kindergartens (Which form part of the basic education system) are however, mostly established by the Government. The Ministry of Social welfare and Education have had the joint responsibilities, under the Laws of Ghana. (The children’s act 560 of 1998 and the early childhood care and development policy, 2004), for these early childhood facilities because of the welfare / care and educational need of children.

During the quarter under review, Fourteen (14) day care center were visited, below is the breakdown
