The Atwima Kwanwoma District Health Directorate has marked its 2024 Child Health Promotion Week at the forecourt of the Adum Kwanwoma Health Centre.
The program was celebrated under the theme: Healthy Childhood; ‘Invest in your child for a better future ‘.
The Ashanti Regional Health Nutrition Officer, Maame Yaa Konadu Adiyiah, admonished mothers to invest into the response ways of feeding their children to curb the rise in child malnutrition.
She further advised them to as a matter of urgency include the 4-star diet during the feeding period of their babies from six months to age 5. The nutrient called on all to take the welfare of babies seriously and take them to the weighing points since they help in monitoring children’s growth and development.
Mr. Simon Asare Mireku, Deputy Director of Health, who represented the District Director of Health services at the Atwima Kwanwoma District Health Directorate, Dr. Joseph Adomako charged fathers to also invest their time, resources and dedicate themselves towards the welfare of their newborn babies as they are raised to become responsible people in the future. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all mothers and urged them to take good care of their wards because they are the future of Ghana.
