The Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, Mr. Kofi Amankwa-Manu together with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Prince Karikari, have jointly cut sod for the construction of a modern disability friendly 20-seater WC toilet facility with water system at Nwinesi No. 3 in the Ashanti Region. A similar brief but colourful ceremony was held at Nwineso No. 1 to also make way for the construction of an Ultra-Modern Market on separate occasions within the area.
The two projects are being funded from the MPs Common Fund and are expected to be completed within six months.
Hon. Amankwa-Manu in his address highlighted on the importance of economic activities and sanitation in the development of the communities across the district.
He noted the need to improve and have such social basic developmental projects in the area was to improve on the living standards of the people which forms part of his developmental agenda as an MP in this modern times.
He commended Nananom and the people of Atwima Kwanwoma for the trust reposed in him and promised to live up to the billing and account to them for his stewardship as he has been chosen to serve his constituents. It is against this backdrop that the MP has devoted GH¢ 400,000 from his share of the common fund to construct the toilet facility, adding that, the Nwineso No. 1 market is also going to be funded by the Local Government Fund as part of efforts to avert the rassling challenges faced with the district.
The legislator called on the traditional leaders and all other relevant stakeholders, to as a matter of urgency create an enabling environment for the contractors of the said projects to complete them as planned.
Adding his voice, Mr. Prince Karikari, the DCE, implored the two contractors to hire the services of the people of the two areas to improve their living standards.
The traditional leaders commended the MP and DCE for their relentless efforts to ensure development across the district and pledged their support to the contractors to a successful execution the projects. SOURCE Samuel Antwi, ISD
