The Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Hon. Kofi Amankwa-Manu, together with the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has commissioned a newly constructed 3-unit classroom block for the Ampeyoo-Krofofrom D/A Junior High School.
The project, funded through the Member of Parliament’s share of the Common Fund, forms part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and create a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning within the district.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Kofi Amankwa-Manu expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders in the education sector for their continuous support and commitment towards improving education in the district.
He particularly commended the DCE, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, for her immense support and cooperation in advancing development initiatives.
The MP described the new classroom block as “a foundation of hope” for the school and the community, expressing confidence that the facility would contribute significantly to nurturing future leaders who would make meaningful contributions to society.
He urged teachers to continue giving their best by dedicating themselves to quality teaching and the development of students, stressing that a strong education system is key to building a better and prosperous Atwima Kwanwoma District.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, on her part, called on teachers to create a disciplined teaching and learning environment capable of producing well-rounded students who can compete with their colleagues across the country.
She encouraged students to take their studies seriously, work hard and make good use of the new facility to ensure that it serves generations to come. She also urged them to develop positive attitudes towards learning and take advantage of the improved learning environment to achieve academic excellence.
The Headteacher of Ampeyoo-Krofofrom D/A Basic School, Mr. George Donkor, expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament and the District Assembly for the intervention. He, however, appealed for further support towards upgrading the primary school block to a befitting standard and providing additional resources needed to enhance teaching and learning.
The Chairman of the occasion, Nana Agyare Oppong Kyekyeku, Dikro of Ampeyoo-Krofofrom, urged teachers and students to take proper care of the new classroom block and cultivate a strong culture of maintenance to ensure the facility remains useful for many years.
He encouraged the students to focus on their education, avoid excessive television viewing and unnecessary use of mobile phones, and dedicate more time to serious studies. He further advised the youth to stay away from social vices and remain committed to building a brighter future through education.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, community members, teachers, parents and students, who expressed their gratitude for the project and pledged their support towards maintaining the facility.
The intervention reflects ongoing efforts by the leadership of Atwima Kwanwoma District to strengthen educational infrastructure and improve learning outcomes across the district.
