A Germany-based Ghanaian pastor, Pastor Manuel Gomes, together with a delegation of officials, has paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, to discuss possible areas of collaboration and development support for the district.
The visit, which took place at the District Assembly, formed part of efforts by the pastor and his entourage to strengthen ties with the Assembly and explore opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the area.
Pastor Manuel Gomes is noted for his previous philanthropic interventions in the district. In 2013, he supported healthcare delivery in the area by supplying hospital equipment to the Aburaso Methodist Hospital as well as the health centres at Trabuom and Foase.
During discussions with the DCE, Pastor Gomes emphasized the importance of humanitarian service, stressing that serving the needs of humanity is a responsibility everyone should strive to uphold.
He indicated his willingness to continue supporting development initiatives within the district, particularly in areas that would positively impact the lives of residents.
Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah expressed her delight at receiving the delegation and conveyed her profound appreciation for the continuous support Pastor Gomes has extended to the district over the years.
The DCE further appealed to Ghanaians living abroad and friends of the district in the diaspora to emulate such gestures by contributing towards the growth and development of the area.
According to her, government alone cannot shoulder the entire development burden considering the vast nature and growing needs of the district, hence the need for collaborative efforts from individuals, philanthropists, and development partners.
She reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to work with stakeholders and benevolent organizations whose interventions would help improve the welfare of the people and accelerate development across the district.
