The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has visited families of the victims of last week’s tragic fire outbreaks at Trede and Boko, both in the district, to offer government support and solidarity.

The two separate infernos left eight victims in critical condition and currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). The disaster also claimed the lives of a mother and her 9-year-old son, both from the same household, plunging their community into deep mourning.
Hon. Asamoah, accompanied by officials from the District Assembly and the Disaster Management Committee, met the bereaved families to extend condolences and assure them of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting them through the difficult period. She also visited the injured at KATH, where medical teams briefed her on the condition of the surviving victims.
Speaking after the visit, the DCE described the incident as “a heartbreaking moment for the entire district”, emphasizing the need for strengthened fire safety awareness and rapid-response community systems. She further directed NADMO to fast-track relief items for the affected households and initiate a detailed investigation into the cause of both fires.
Community members have commended the Assembly for its swift response and presence on the ground, even as families brace for funerals and medical bills.
The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly says it will continue monitoring the situation closely while coordinating support for all affected resident.
