LEAP Reassessment to Begin in Atwima Kwanwoma

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly (AKDA) has announced the commencement of the reassessment of beneficiaries under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme in the District, slated to begin before the end of January, 2026.

This forms part of efforts by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MOGCSP) to improve the effectiveness of the programme and ensure that the support is reached out to deserving households.
Briefing the team members, the Social Welfare and Community Development Officer in the district, Madam Hannah Yeboah, hinted that ahead of the reassessment, a team from the Ministry will do a due diligence assessment to the various communities to engage with selected LEAP beneficiaries and assess the impact of the programme on their livelihoods. The team also paid a courtesy call on the District Assembly to officially inform management of the upcoming exercise.
According to the Ministry’s team, the reassessment is not intended to remove existing beneficiaries arbitrarily, but to strengthen and sanitize the programme through improved data accuracy and service delivery.
The reassessment exercise aims to clean the beneficiary data and where necessary, enrol qualified households onto the programme. To achieve such feat, officers from the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development (SWCD) will conduct house-to-house visitation to engage beneficiaries and collect relevant data in the ensuung days.
In the quest to do a decent job, the Assembly has prepared a road map to educate the masses on the importance of this exercise. The campaign will include community information centre announcements, talk at market centres, Churches and also engage some identifiable groups in the district to ensure beneficiary households are well informed and prepared.
The District Chief Executive, Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah welcomed the team from the Ministry at her office to the and pledged the Assembly’s readiness to ensure a smooth and successful reassessment process.
